About Snc
Owners of SNC Jo and Sarah are long time colleges turned friends, who have both had a passion for hairdressing from a young age. Short n Curly’s was the salon they both chose to learn this trade, Jo joining at age 18 followed by Sarah a few years later at age 15.
The previous owner Alf is a fantastic educator and was key to the salons amazing long future. Jo produced a high standard of work and trained way ahead of the required apprentice level.
Sarah joined Jo on the salon floor a few years later with a high quality of work. With Jo’s strength in Colour application and theory alongside Sarah’s strength in cutting, they became the perfect duo.
Friends now of 21 years, you’d think these two bicker! Well you couldn’t be more wrong, ones weakness is anothers strength which makes this pair the perfect salon partners.
When Jo became manager, Sarah became assistant manager and were instantly offered to purchase the salon from Alf. They wanted to carry on the great work Alf had started in 1974 whilst continuing to build and shape the salons future. They decided to give the salon a modern feel…..SNC Hairdressing is born.
Snc Apprenticeships
Finding a great apprentice is worth its weight in gold to us and is so much more than completing paperwork. What we learn as apprentices shape our future, not just for the individual but for the industry we work in.
At SNC we aim to not only give core knowledge in the fundamentals of hairdressing but to build your confidence, learn how to work as part of a team and understand your value as an apprentice.
Our training is all supplied in house by our team of trainers, our qualifications are supplied by UKTD/City & Guilds and our out of salon training commences at TIGI Academy London.
We supply learning for school leavers age 16-18 under a government-funded training scheme.
Hairdressing requires dedication, punctuality, efficiency, people skills, creativity and a bucket load of hard work.
SNC is a fantastic place to begin your career in Hairdressing. Jo and Sarah welcome you to learn this trade, just as they did, right here at SNC.

Jo – Co-Owner
Jo is a specialist in every area of Colour including correction, her knowledge is second to none. Jo has been awarded a “Wella Master Expert” title by Wella Professional and is a perfectionist in every area of hairdressing but particularly drives the colour side of the business. She is warm, friendly and always has heaps of great stories to keep you entertained.
She has a very large and loyal clientele within the salon.
Sarah – Co-Owner
Sarah’s area of expertise is Cutting classically/ creatively and Hair Extensions. She is the in salon educator for our team of apprentice’s. She was chosen to join the TIGI European Session Team and will be worked backstage at LFW 2017/18, working on creating styles to suit the models and clothes.
Sarah is also the salon Hair extension specialist and is great at advising new styles and pushing creative boundaries.
Lynda & Carol – Front of house
Lynda and Carol have been part of our team for over a year and are always eager to help customers book appointments. You will always receive a warm welcome when walking through our door and fabulous customer service.
Lynda and Carol are both qualified hairdressers and understand that the right booking is imperative to the smooth running of the salon.
Jade – Style Director
Jade is an all-round hairdresser but her main area of expertise would have to be Creative Colour. She is not scared to think outside the box and try something new.
Most clients refer to her as the bright-haired, tattoed hairdresser and her individualism sets her aside in her quality of work. Jade is also trained in LA Weave extensions and Keratin Blow-drys.
Charlotte – Style Director
Charlotte is a fantastic addition to our team. Her strengths lie in her color knowledge and you will often see her assisting and teaching our other members of staff.
She is advanced Stylist in all aspects of Hairdressing and continues to be one of the strongest members of the team.
Grace – Style Director / Stylist
Grace an amazing stylist and great asset to our team. She has trained in house at SNC from the very beginning and we have loved watching her grow.
She is confident in all aspects of cutting and styling which she offers at a Style Director price and coloring services which she offers at a Stylist level. She is an extremely motivated individual with a bright future ahead of her.
Lilah – Style Director / Stylist
Lilah started at SNC 6 years ago, originally training at college, she came to us after finishing her NVQ level 3.
She has been in salon, working on advanced coloring techniques and color correction. Her clientele is building gradually and so has her confidence. Lilah is a really huge asset to our team, her color skills are amazing and she is now confident and experienced in cutting. She is amazing at Balayage and has a returning clientele.
Lilah offers Style Director Color and Stylist cutting services.
Angel – Stylist / Graduate
Angel is our newest trained Stylist amongst our salon family. She is still adapting her training and we have watched her flourish into a skilled Hairstylist.
Angel currently still offers Color at a Graduate price but is competent in all aspects of Cutting which she offers at a Stylist price.
Kaitlin – Graduate Stylist
Kaitlin is a new Graduate Stylist and has been training 1:1 with us for the last year. She is speeding through her training and will soon become a fully qualified Stylist in our team. She is currently offering services at a discounted rate, so make sure you give her a try.
